ADI (Austempered Ductile Iron)

ADI – Austempered Ductile Iron – what is it? Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) is a specialty heat treated material that takes advantage of the near-net shape technology and low cost manufacturability of ductile iron castings to make a high strength, low cost, and even excellent abrasion-resistant material.

Cost Savings

The material has become a viable replacement for costly forgings, steel weldments and assemblies.

For producing ADI, it is all about having the right chemistry and tight metallurgical controls. Donsco has been making ADI for the past 15 years. With two full-time metallurgists and strategic partnerships with outside heat treaters, Donsco has been able to establish itself as a leading ADI manufacturer. We currently provide parts to the Construction and Mining, Agriculture, Automotive, Heavy Truck and Railroad Industries. The parts include steering knuckles, sprockets, rollers, idlers, suspension housings and brackets, wear plates, wheel hubs, control arms, plows, hitches, crankshafts, and flanged shafts.
